RADnet

Region II Agricultural Development Network (RADnet) is emerging by stakeholders collaborating to make the Mainstay Mini Agro-Processing Facility the hub for agricultural prosperity for poor rural households. Mainstay is quite known for its high quality and tasty organic pineapple chunks and hearts of palm, and these excellent organic products are exported to a niche market in France.

Rural Enterprise and Agricultural Project (READ) initiated the Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) to ensure that this regional body coordinates the activities of the groups benefiting from the project. At least two attempts were made but RAC is still not functional. READ is ceasing this opportunity to have the RAC incorporated into the new body which will be a broad-based unit. READ envisaged that it will play the leading role in the coordination of the regional body which will be the pioneer of the development of the non-traditional agricultural sector within the region. RADnet is earmarked to control the Business Facilitation Center (BFC) at Charity which will facilitate the communication and documentation of support services to the wider groups within the region.
